The emphasis of the Automotive Transmission and Axle Certificate of Achievement is on vehicle manual transmissions, automatic transmissions/transaxles, and axle systems. This includes basic operation, function, service, and maintenance. The systems include automatic and manual transmissions, transfer cases, final drives, CV joints, and shafts, as well as associated hardware. Applicable course are National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation (NATEF) compliant, meet the standards or National Coalition of Certification Centers (NC3), and integrate Mopar College Automotive Program (CAP) Local levels 0 and 1 online coursework. Students and incumbent employees who complete this program will be prepared for entry-level positions at local automotive dealerships, independent repair facilities, national repair chains, fleets, and parts suppliers. Students may also choose to continue their education and earn the Associate of Science Degree in Automotive Technology.
